Project: Product sourcing/ development strategy for new company division

The challenge:

Cascade Engineering, a Triple Bottom Line B Corp, started a new division within Cascade called “Cascade For The Home,” with a vision to feature products made from sustainable materials across key categories. Cascade saw that their values were closely aligned with Whole Foods Market and wanted to partner with them to develop brands and products based on green product trends and needs at WFM and sell them into WFM. However, they had no expertise in this area and no connection into the company. They knew that WFM was notoriously difficult to get meetings with and had no entry point.

What we did:

Singer Sustainability facilitated meetings with Executive Leadership teams across the US on behalf of Cascade that included Regional Presidents, VPs, and Green Mission Executive Coordinators. Having opened the door to a partnership, Singer Sustainability was subsequently involved in the complete scope of the project, including product design, sourcing, manufacturing, distribution, sales analysis and project management.

Result:

As a result of the meetings and presentations, a partnership and program was greenlighted at the highest levels in five regions. We facilitated delivery of a highly successful turnkey program into the five regions of WFM with products that soon became the top movers in the Lifestyle category both in terms of volume and margin dollars.
